I tried in February to start a blog, but in true procrastination/not-being-able-to-follow-through form, I only made one post. This month I am determined to keep blogging…past one day. I believe most everyone quotes Michael Jordan when it comes to trying, and I think it’s fitting if I do the same (even if I’m the least sports-minded person in the world): “I can accept failure, everyone fails at something. But I can’t accept not trying.”- MJ
So yes, I have set new lofty goals and I plan on following through on some level. Here it is:
Major goal of the month: Doing Insanity as per the Insanity Calendar
source: http://calendaronpics.info/tag/insanity-calendar-2015
Mini goal of the month: Learning Beginners French via Coffee Break podcasts
How’s it been going so far, you ask? Let me just tell you, turning on Insanity in itself made my heart race. Workout enough, right? Ha, I wish! Then I turn on Insanity and all I can think is, am I done yet? It’s a tortuous workout to say the least. And I’m huffing and puffing and really only doing 20% of the workout (30% if I’m being generous), but still I feel that feeling of accomplishment when I exit out of the video because I survived!
Yes, the fit test is to let you know that you’re not really fit. And the second workout is to tell you that you suck, but I think eventually it gets better (to the point that you could complete 50% and you’d pat yourself on the shoulder). Hell, I pat myself on the shoulder for just turning on the video. It’s hard when you’re lazy…. It’s also hard when you love to indulge yourself. I rewarded myself with nachos and chocolate cake. I judged myself for a brief second, before I realized that I could only change one habit at a time.
As for the mini goal: I’m on the third lesson. I can say that I’d be able to maintain a conversation with a legit french-speaking individual for a total of 30 seconds. Ce est la vie!
